JoAnne M (Grabin) Pellis

JoAnne M Pellis of Eynon, died April 2 at the VNA Hospice Inpatient Unit of Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton, after an 11 year courageous battle of breast cancer. She celebrated her 55th birthday on March 24th.

JoAnne was the loving wife of Michael J Pellis, Eynon, who celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary on February 25th, cherished daughter of John and Eleanor Konasavage Grabin, Eynon, and baby sister to Patty, Nancy, and Shirley.

JoAnne was a humble and kindhearted person who, saw the good in everyone. She battled metastasized breast cancer with dignity and determination.

She was a member of Christ the King Parish, St Mary’s of Czestochowa Church, Eynon. She graduated from Valley View High School, and Empire Beauty School, Scranton. She had her own beauty salon in Archbald, and in recent years, worked at Holiday Hair Salon, Eynon.

We wish to thank Dr Heim, and his associates Charlie and Brenda, from Hematology and Oncology Associates of Northeastern Pa., for giving us JoAnne for more years than expected. We also want to thank the VNA Hospice Unit of GCMC for their wonderful care, comfort, and compassion shown to her in her final days. A final thank you to the organizers, sponsors, and participants of the ‘Up the Eynon’ charity run/walk on her behalf.

Also surviving are her sisters Patricia Coccetti and husband Peter, Eynon, Nancy Addley and husband James, Eynon, and Mayor Shirley Barrett and husband Eugene, Archbald, nephew Jamie Addley and wife Susan, great nieces Elizabeth and Andrea Addley, Eynon. Sister-in-law Susan Cummings and husband Thomas, nephew Conor Cummings, all of Moosic Lake. Numerous aunts and uncles, especially Aunt Alice Susco, loving cousins, and supportive friends.

She was preceded in death by grandparents Steven and Anna Grabin, Anthony and Josephine Konasavage, father and mother-in-law Michael and Mary Ann Ropoch Pellis.

At the request of the family, there will be no calling hours. A mass of Christian Burial will take place at St Mary’s of Czestochowa Catholic Church, 417 Main Street, Eynon, 10 am, Tuesday, April 5th. Interment, St Francis Cemetery, Eynon.
