Welcome to the memorial page for

Walter L Petrosky

September 22, 1924 ~ March 25, 2016 (age 91) 91 Years Old

On March 25th, our father, 91 year old Walter L. Petrosky, life-long Archbald resident, entered into eternal rest and the loving arms of his beloved wife of 63 years and our beloved mother, Anna Mancuso Petrosky.

Through their union,  two children,  Joyce Ann Knott and Walter D. Petrosky,  their respective spouses, James Knott and Barbara Petrosky, four grandchildren,  Walter Petrosky Jr., Laura Knott, Sherry Knott, Shelly Knott Walters, and nine great grandchildren, are left to mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Anna Petrosky, his brother Stanley, and sisters Sophie Petrosky and Helen Keesler, as well as several neices and nephews. His wife, our mother died October 20, 2009.

At the age of 17 years old, Walter enlisted in the Army and fought in WWII as a tank commander.  He retired from Farview State Mental Hospital where he worked outside on the farm until the farm closed and then he went to work  inside the facility as a security guard for 25 years.

Our dad loved to fix things,  especially lawnmowers he would retrieve from the garbage and give away once they were fixed.  In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and leather crafting.    As he got older, his hobbies were cooking, talking about watch making, world events, politics, especially his buddy Trump, and sharing his war time experiences! God bless him, up until two months ago, he lived alone and independently.

Our family would like to extend a special and heartfelt thank you to Dr. Weinberger's,  P.A. Steve Kravitz, for his kindness and excellent care, as well as, Margaurite Dipple, his wonderful home health nurse. Dr. Guzek, and the kind and concerned  professional nursing staff at Dunmore Health Care Center where he resided for ten days and everyone from Heartland Hospice who took care of our father and made his passing a comfortable experience, especially his nurse Cheryl.

There will be no viewing as per our dad's request.
