It is with great sadness to announce the death of Thomas A. Zelno, Jr., 71, of Archbald who died on Tuesday, July 25 at his home surrounded by his caring family. He was a son of late Thomas and Elizabeth Skierski Zelno. Tom and his loving wife, Diane Pettinato Zelno celebrated 44 joyful years of marriage.
Born in Peckville, he graduated from Archbald High School, Class of 1969 and Keystone College. Tom owned and operated Ruff Supply Co, Taylor, a distributor of industrial safety supplies, for more than 30 years. Tom treasured his children and would never miss the opportunity to watch them at any school program or sport events. He enjoyed attending local car shows and had a passion for cars. He was a true car enthusiast. Tom was selfless by nature and put others above himself. He especially enjoyed dining out with family and his closest friends.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Diane, are his two sons, Christopher and wife, Mary Sheerin Zelno, Clarks Summit and Thomas III and wife, Kayla Sulz Zelno, Scranton; his two daughters, Melissa Zelno and partner, Anthony Moody, Eynon; Christine and husband, Michael Cottone, Clarks Summit; brothers, David, Freeport, Maine; Mark, NYC, NY; Matthew and Judy, Peckville; sisters, Elaine Fiels, Florida; Marie Zelno Wiernusz, Archbald and 6 loved grandchildren, Carmelo Moody, Niko Moody, Noah Moody, Allie Cottone, Michael Cottone and James Cottone and several nephews.
Preceding in death is a brother, Stephen Zelno who died 2019 and a sister, Linda Vezendi who died 2000.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at 10 am at Christ the King Parish, St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Archbald. Family will receive condolences from 9 AM till service. Entombment at Our Mother of Sorrows, Greenfield Township. No flowers. Donations can be made to a charity of your choosing.
