Theresa "Tess" Zaleski

Theresa “Tess” Zaleski, 91, of Jermyn, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Serenity Care of Mid Valley where she was a resident.  Born in Simpson, she was the daughter of the Late Frank and Claudia Bartosh Terpak.  Her loving husband, Joseph J. Zaleski died in 1989.

Theresa was a graduate of Fell Township High School, Class of 1949.  She was previously employed as a cashier at the former, Pioneer American Bank, (NBT Bank), Carbondale, until promoted to Manager of the Mayfield Branch.  Tess cherished her position and greeted clients with a genuine hello and friendly conversations.  She retired in 1996. 

Tess enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and was thrilled when her sons and their family and relatives gathered at her table to feast.  The memories of treasured meals and stories shared will forever remain within their hearts and minds.  Family values meant everything to her.  She would always extend a helping hand, a warm smile and welcoming gesture to everyone.   She kept herself busy while taking pleasure in crocheting, needlecraft and sewing.  

Surviving are her four loving and caring sons.  Edward and wife, Joan; and Ronald and companion, Daryllyn Kuzmiak; both of Jermyn, Richard and wife, Bonny, Brooklyn, Pa and John and wife, Liz, Freehold, NJ.; five Grandsons, one granddaughter and five great-grandsons; and a brother, Andrew Terpak, Hollywood, Fl.

Proceeding her in death were five brothers, John, Paul, Michael, Peter and Frank Terpak and three sisters, Anna Krill, Mary Bradley and Helen Gursky.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, January 18 at 10 am at Christ the King Parish, St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 411 Church St. Archbald.  The family will receive condolences with viewing at the church prior to mass from 9:00 am.  Private Interment at Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite local charity.
