Sharon E. Plevyak, 80, of Archbald, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 29. She was the wife of the late, Francis J. Plevyak who died March 6, 2001.
Born in Carbondale, Sharon was the daughter of the late, Raymond and Gertrude McCloskey Collins. She was a 1960 graduate from Archbald High School and a member of Christ the King Parish; St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Archbald and it’s Altar and Rosary Society. Prior to retirement, she worked at Haband, Peckville.
Sharon is survived by her loving daughter, Sheri Knecht and husband, Todd, whom she resided with; and two sisters, Margaret “Peggy” Michlowski and husband, William; Blakely and Daryle Collins, Olyphant and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Lou Matoushak, and Kathleen Phillips.
Sharon enjoyed traveling, camping and especially her trips to the casino. She bragged about being a free spirit as she was an attendee of the original “Woodstock Concert.” Sharon was a kind, caring and gentile person and per her wishes there will be no viewing hours.
Sheri would like to extend a sincere appreciation for the outstanding care given by Nancy Greer, NP from Dr. Richard Weinberger's office to her Mom through out the years.
Family and friends may call at the church before service from 8:30 am to 9:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, February 3, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Christ the King Parish, Archbald at 10 am.
