Miriam R. Manchak, 82, of Peckville, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2023 at Allied Hospice, Morgan Highway, Scranton after a courageous battle with cancer. She passed peacefully with her family by her side.
Born in Peckville, she was the daughter of the late William and Ruth McGraw Hofsommer.
Miriam was a graduate of Archbald High School and Lackawanna Jr. College, where she earned an Associate degree in Accounting. From 2000 until her retirement in 2018, she administered various programs for the Scranton Lackawanna Human Development Agency.
Family values meant everything to her. She was always willing to extend a warm smile, a helping hand, or a witty comment to everyone she met. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her grandchildren. Miriam enjoyed Country music, but her true passion was visiting the ocean, searching for seashells.
Surviving is her loving son, Robert, and wife, Ruth, Sparta, NJ; and her grandchildren, Alexa and Zachary.
Friends and family may call Friday, April 14th, from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm at the funeral home.
