Michael A. Kosar

Michael A. Kosar, a resident of Archbald, died Thursday morning at Regional Hospital, Scranton. His wife is the former Ellen A. Gallagher. The couple was married 50 years last May.
Born in Eynon, he was the son of Walter and Elizabeth “Betty” Snyder Kosar. Michael was a graduate of Archbald High School and Lackawanna College. Prior to his retirement, he was employed at Weston Instruments as a CNC Operator and Specialty Records as a Mold Technician. Michael is a member of Christ the King Parish and previously served as a lector at St. Mary’s CzÄ™stochowa Church. He enjoyed reading, golfing but mostly cherished the time he had with his family, and friends and especially seeing his grandsons.
Surviving is his son Michael and wife Angela, Pine Hill, NJ, his daughter Lindsey Ann Kilker and husband James, Jessup, grandchildren, John and James Kosar, a brother Andrew and wife Diane, Clarks Summit, a sister Elizabeth Kosar Callahan, Emmaus, his Mother-in-law, Eleanor Gallagher, his sister-in-law Mary Calpin and husband Michael, an Aunt, Leocadia “Tootsie” Shelesky and his beloved nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Monday with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 429 Church St., Archbald. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Montdale.
Viewing will be Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m.
