Marion Elayna Cosgrove, 73, a lifelong resident of Archbald, gained her angel wings on February 10, 2022 after a lengthy courageous illness. She was the wife of Robert “Dexter” Cosgrove who passed away on May 23, 2016. She was the kindest sweetest soul whose love was greater than warranted.
Born in Archbald, she was the daughter of the late James and Marion Coccia Moran and was educated in Archbald schools. Marion was a proprietor and part owner of the Woodland Inn Restaurant, Jermyn. She was a hard worker and took great pride in the family business.
Marion was proud of her entire family and loved being surrounded by everyone at family gatherings, especially during Christmas Eve and in the summer at her pool. She especially loved her dog’s “Pepper” and “Patches” who greeted her in heaven with kisses. She was a kind soul who was soft spoken and graceful. Marion had an infectious smile and a keen eye for style. Her external beauty was equally matched by her internal beauty. She loved her Camaro, fashion, scary movies, and the real housewives.
The family would like to thank Dr. Susie Biancarelli, the nurses and staff of Allied Services, and Saint Mary’s Villa for their dedication and excellent care. A special appreciation to Cindy Taramelli for her unselfish kindness and to her lifelong friend, Margie Walsh.
Marion is survived by her siblings whom she absolutely adored, took care of, and loved endlessly. Brothers, Michael Moran and wife Kathy, Archbald; James “Dipper” Moran and wife Bernie, Jessup; sisters, Erin Owen and husband Thomas “Bear” Owen, Archbald; Margaret Moran Smargiassi and husband Vincent, Peckville; Judy Harrison Rogan (cousin) and husband Michael Rogan, sisters-in-law Sally Schwartz and Frances Cosgrove. Marion has numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews who affectionately called her “Aunt Mimi”. While she did not have any children of her own, she treated each of them as such. She was greeted in heaven by her parents, husband, aunt, uncle, Iin-laws and family.
