Marie Diane Kerrigan, 70, known to everyone as Diane, passed away at her daughter’s home surrounded by family, after a very long and courageous battle with cancer. Born February 18, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Anne Gerrity Galaydick. Diane graduated from Archbald High. She spent most of her life working at Lackawanna County Heath Care Center as a nurse’s aide, as she loved caring for people. She was a loving mother to her two children and enjoyed the companionship of her dogs. The loves of her life were her two grandchildren, Noah and Gracie. She would spend every moment with them or bragging about them. They made the hard moments a little easier and they adored their "Nana". Daine loved her dear friend and cousin, Carol Budzinski, who was there by her side until the end.
She is survived by a son, Ryan Kerrigan, Archbald; a daughter, Karissa Kerrigan and partner Matthew, Jessup; a grandson Noah and a granddaughter Gracie, also from Jessup. Two Brothers Jack Galaydick, Dickson City; Stephen Galaydick and wife Norma, Colarado Springs; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
As per Diane’s request, she was cremated. Friends and family can pay final respects on Saturday, June 5th, 2021, at Louis J. Rapoch Funeral Home, 420 Church St., Archbald from 9-10am with a Mass of Christian Burial following at Christ the King Parish, St. Thomas Aquinas Church at 10am.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Hospice of the Sacred Heart for going above and beyond in caring for our mom. Donations can be made in her name to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore.
