Linda West-Mead, age 70, loving mother of three, grandmother, and adoring wife to her late husband Clark Mead passed away peacefully on December 26th after a courageous battle with COVID-19.
Born November 18, 1951, to Robert and Louise Miller-Palmiter of Scranton, PA, she had 16 brothers and sisters and was formerly employed by Sarno and Sons Formal Wear.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She enjoyed playing cards and other games with family and friends. She had an incredible recipe for something as simple as oatmeal, that was raved about by everyone. Although she shared the recipe with all of us, it never tasted the same without the love she put into making it. All who have known her will remember her witty sense of humor that could always be depended on for breaking the ice and making friends and family laugh till it hurt. This sense of humor was present right into her final hours prior to being called home to God; we are sure her departed friends and family are laughing with her again.
Surviving are her children William West of Glendale, AZ, Kristy West-Karluk of Martinsburg, WV and Daniele West-Lucas-Ross-Gaus-Shoen of Scranton, four deeply adored grandchildren Shane Lucas, Paige Ross, William West, Frank Karluk Jr. and her faithful K9 companion Jake, who never left her side.
During her final days at Geisinger Community Medical Center she was shown great compassion by Beth of the nursing staff. She was truly treated like a loved member of her own family and we are grateful for her kindness, and is an example of what nursing should be.
Arrangements are private at the convenience of the family and are under the care and entrusted to Louis J Rapoch Funeral Home Archbald, PA.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations are encouraged to her beloved charity, the Wounded Warrior Project.
“Always pay it forward”.
