Justin Sofranko

November 10, 2023

Justin Sofranko, 42, of Peckville, died unexpectedly in the ICU at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton on Friday, November 10, 2023.

Only son to Joel and Barbara Priblo Sofranko, he graduated from Valley View High School, Archbald, Class of 1999 and attended ITT Tech.  Prior to his illness, Justin worked for Outdoor Fence Solutions, Olyphant.  He was a member of All Saints Orthodox Church, Olyphant where he served in his younger years as dedicated Altar Boy.

Justin was a free spirit and loved a challenge.  In the winter, he tackled the ski slopes, the summer it was riding RV’s.   His talent was unlimited.  Justin has significant collection of RC Cars which he built and then enjoyed racing them.  Whenever possible, he tested his skills on his skateboard.  He played baseball for the American Legion League and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and the Giants.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his caring uncle, Neil Sofranko, Peckville and several cousins.

Preceding him in death were his paternal grandparents, Andrew, Sr. and Margaret Fedorko Sofranko and maternal grandparents, Paul and Helen Berkanich Priblo and an uncle, Andrew Sofranko Jr.

The family wishes to send a sincere appreciation to Dr. S. Baroody and the ER and Critical Care Unit Staff at Geisinger, CMC for their professionalism, caring and compassion provided to Justin.

A blessing service will be held Wednesday, November 15, at 9:30 AM at the funeral home by Father Paul Witek, Celebrant, All Saints Orthodox Church, Olyphant.  Viewing on Tuesday, November 14 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.  Interment All Saints Russian Orthodox Cemetery, Gino Merli Dr., Peckville.  Donations in Justin’s memory to NE Detachment Marine Corps League,  PO BOX 1775 Scranton, Pa 18501.
