December 12, 2020
Joseph E. Carite, 85, of Eynon, died Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Geisinger CMC, surrounded by his loving wife and family. His wife of 57 years is the former Lorraine Kozlowski. Born in Archbald, he was the son of the late Carmel and Helen “Nellie” Brown Carite.
Joe graduated from Archbald High School and was employed at Tobyhanna Army Depot for 42 years prior to retirement. Joe was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Christ the King Parish, St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Archbald, where he enjoyed ushering and volunteering at the Church picnic each year. In his younger days, Joe was an avid hunter and a member of the Mt. Vernon Rod and Gun Club.
Joe’s family was very important to him. He treasured time spent with his wife, especially mass at the Cathedral of St. Peter, Scranton, followed by a dinner out and hours of shopping. He found every opportunity he could to spend time with his Grand-dogs Jet & Pearl.
Surviving are his son, Joseph Carite and wife Sarah, Eynon; sisters-in-law, Virginia Vineski and husband Martin, and Mary Ann Chorba, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and many wonderful neighbors and friends.
