Joseph A. Burnetti, 82, died Sunday at home. His wife was Marilyn Malachowski Burnetti, his soul mate and love of his life. They would have been married six years on July 25th.
Born in Jessup, he was a son of the late Albert and Mary Guidos Burnetti.
He graduated in 1955 from Jessup High School. After graduation, he served our country in the US Marine Corps, until 1962. He was an active member of Holy Cross Parish in Olyphant, and a Gold Circle member of the Veterans of Foreign Affairs of the United States. He was a general contractor who never retired.
Joe loved watching his grandchildren play football and enjoyed fishing and hunting with his sons. He was extremely kind and generous and loved to make people laugh. He was always available to help family and friends. Loved by all, he will be forever missed.
His family was proud to call him husband, father, stepdad, pop, grandpa and friend.
Surviving are his children, Joseph Burnetti, and Robert Burnetti and wife Niki, Daytona, FL. Stepchildren: Paul Palonis and wife Christine, Taylor, Karen Palonis and husband Steve, Scranton, Anthony Palonis and wife Dona, Starrucca, Karen Smith and husband Robert, Chico, TX, Judy Faller and husband Walter, Scott Twp, and Robert Wilmot and wife Renee, Lake Ariel. Grandchildren, Abigail Bull, Braden Burnetti, Kendell and Devon Grammo, Jacob, Nicholas,Gabrielle, Robert, Anthony, and Daniel Palonis, Austin and Coleman Smith, Nathan and Adam Wilmot, Jackie Santamour and Leslie Faller, a great grandchild, Eleanor Burnetti and a brother Albert Burnetti, Olyphant.
He was preceded in death by brothers Leonard and Robert Burnetti and sisters Mary Panettieri and Catherine Froncek.
There will be a private family viewing Friday from 9:00 to 11:00 at the Louis J. Rapoch Funeral Home, 420 Church St. Archbald.
CDC guidelines to be followed. Interment private. A celebration of life for Joe will be held and posted at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the donor’s favorite charity is his honor would be appreciated. Condolences may be made at the funeral home website.
