Joseph Berry, 68, of Archbald, died unexpectedly at his home. He was the caring husband to Kathleen Williams Berry.
Son of the late, John “Jack” and Joya Leonard Berry, he graduated from St. Rose High School, Carbondale and prior to his retirement, he worked as a painter at Lockheed Martin, Archbald.
Joe had been an active member of Sturges Hose Company and Meredith Hose Company, Childs, before his disability. He was proud of being a volunteer fire fighter and never missed a Federation parade. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, bowling, softball, playing the drums and fishing with his boys. He was a faithful fan of the NY Yankees, loved old movies and enjoyed feeding the birds.
He is survived by his two sons, Matthew and Christina, Matamoras; and Kevin and wife, Stephanie, Mt. Juliet, TN; two brothers, Leonard and wife, Gerrie, Vandling; Eugene and wife, Nancy, Taylor; two sisters, Nancy Shumski and husband, Walter, Carbondale; Louise Cipriani, Pittsburgh; a grandson, Grayson Berry, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Joe was preceded in death by an infant sister, a brother, John in 2019 and brother-in-law, Randy Williams on June 7th.
Blessing service will be held Friday, June 30 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home by Reverend Michael Amo Gyau, Celebrant, Christ the King Parish. Viewing prior from 9:00 AM. Interment following service, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township.
