John P. “Jack” Mancuso, 77, Peckville, passed away on Saturday, July 9 at Aventura at Terrace View, Peckville, after a long battle with ataxia, cerebellum deterioration which is a rare and horrible disease. His loving wife is the former Wendy Palazzari Mancuso.
Born in Scranton, he was a son of former Jack and Mary Talarico Mancuso and a graduate from Archbald High School. Jack was a member of Christ the King Parish and worked at General Dynamics, Eynon, as a machinist and a Union Officer prior to retirement. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him. Jack had many friends, an infectious smile and would help anyone in need. He enjoyed all sports: hunting, fishing, skiing, karate but most of all a good round of golf.
Surviving are sons, Sean Mancuso and wife Becky; Steven Mancuso and girlfriend Melissa; a brother Greg, Peckville, who was faithfully by his side from the beginning to the end; 3 nieces, Tara, Tressa, and Charise; a stepdaughter, Tiffany Ordonez, LPN, Jessup, who assisted in Jack’s care throughout, and a step grandson, Emilio Ordonez.
The family wishes to acknowledge Hospice and Aventura for their excellent care and empathy towards Jack. They will forever be grateful.
As in Michael Bolton’s song “How am I supposed to live without you, when I’ve loved you so long” expresses our heartfelt grief.
A Mass of Christian Burial at Christ the King Parish, St. Mary’s Czestochowa Church, Eynon will take place at a later date to be announced. Services are private.
