John E. "YOCK" Hughes died Monday afternoon at Carbondale Nursing & Rehab Center.
Born in Archbald, he was a son of the late Edward and DeSales Morrow Hughes.
Yock was a graduate of Archbald High School and served in the Army National Guard.
He was employed at Loral and Specialty Records, before retirement.
He and his friend Beaner Curtis always enjoyed Sunday breakfast at various eateries. John was a sports enthusiast and of the Catholic faith.
Surviving are brothers Edward Hughes and wife Theresa and William Hughes and wife Maureen of Archbald, sister-in-law Susan Hughes of Binghamton, nephews, Edward Hughes and wife Amy, Archbald, Michael Hughes and wife Michelle, Clarks Summit, Patrick Hughes and wife Ryann and Stephen Hughes and wife Shanna of Binghamton and niece, Amy Hassaj and husband Bob of Archbald, great nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were brothers, Patrick and Thomas Hughes and sister-in-law Janet Hughes.

There will be no public viewing and services will be at the discretion of the family.
