Gertrude “Trudy” Kathryn Gangemi Gambucci, LPN

July 25, 2020

Gertrude “Trudy” Kathryn Gangemi Gambucci, 93, resident of Eynon, passed away peacefully at Abington Manor, Clarks Summit on Saturday, July 25.  She was the wife of late Anthony J. Gangemi and Mario Gambucci. 

Born May 16, 1927 in Archbald, she was the daughter of the late Cesare and Katherine Radziewicz DelBaldo.  A graduate of Archbald High School and Hoyt School of Practical Nursing, Scranton class of 1961.

Trudy was a devoted and faithful parishioner of Christ the King Parish where she participated in many church functions, picnics, Renew, Adorations and was President of Confraternity of Christian Mothers for over 13 years.  She also was an active member of the VFW Post 7963 in Eynon and former member of Mid Valley Hospital Auxiliary. Her parents owned Cesare’s Restaurant in Archbald, a prominent place where in her young life enjoyed the clientele of the business and established a unique appreciation of cooking, all with perfection.  Many holidays and special occasions were enjoyed in her home with family and friends.  In her pastime, she enjoyed gardening, reading and music.

 

Survived by a caring son, Anthony J. Gangemi Jr. and wife Karen, Throop, Stepson James Gambucci and wife Karen, Eynon, loving grandchildren, Nicole, Jessica, Aubrey, A.J. Gangemi III, James J. Gambucci Jr., Great grandchildren Carlie, Cody, Alexander, Adeline and Lucas, many wonderful and special nieces especially Godchild Mary Hudak and Stacy Whitaker and family.

 

Preceding her in death was her son, Richard Gangemi, Granddaughter Danielle Gangemi and sisters, Delores Callahan and Christine Hudak.

 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 8, at 10AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Christ the King Parish, Archbald. Inurnment, St. Thomas Cemetery, Archbald.
