Gerald J. Marcinek, 82, a resident at the Gino Merli Veterans Center died Saturday at Regional Hospital in Scranton. He was the husband of the late Rosalie Hudak Marcinek, who died in 1979.
Born in Peckville, he was a son of the late Joseph and Anna Sapak Marcinek. He attended Jessup Schools and was a graduate of Jessup High School. He also attended Johnson School of Technology. Gerry was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Peckville and a U.S Army veteran. Before retirement he was employed as a salesman at Sugermans' in Eynon and a nurse’s aide at the Gino Merli Veterans Center.
Surviving is a sister-in-law, Frances Marcinek, Peckville, nieces and nephews, Michele Lawry and husband Ralph, Scranton; Jim Reddington, and wife Pam, Olyphant; Jean Baggetta, Peckville; Paulette Marcinek Morano and husband, Greg, Florida; Joseph Marcinek, California; Ann Marie Rodarte' and husband Dan, California; and Michael Marcinek, Peckville, and several cousins.
Preceding him in death was a son Peter, at birth, Brothers ; Joseph and wife Pauline, Andy and wife Helen, and Frank; Sisters; Ann Marcinek and husband Russell and Mary Marcinek Reddington and husband Joseph.
Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Peckville. Interment private In St. Mary's Assumption Cemetery, Montdale.
There will be no public viewing.
