Delores Porcello, of Eynon died Sunday evening at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore with her loving daughter, son and sister at her side. She was the wife of the late Joseph Porcello who died on September 26, 1989.Born in Somerset, Pa. she was a daughter to the late Anthony and Stella Wozniak Mellado. Delores was a graduate of Archbald High School and member of Christ the King Parish, attending mass faithfully at St. Mary of Czestochowa Church, Eynon. She was affiliated with the church’s Altar and Rosary Society and a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union (ILGWU) having worked in various local dress factories. She was a talented sewer and enjoyed crocheting and making decorations for her home. Delores cherished her children and at every opportunity she let them know how much they were loved
.Surviving is a caring daughter, Sharon Porcello whom she resided, a son, Joseph and wife Elizabeth, Jessup, and a devoted sister, Carol Kilmer and husband Larry, Mayfield and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was a brother, Joseph “Willie” Mellado and sisters, Mary Panfini and Sally Elnitsky.
The funeral will be Thursday, June 23, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 in St. Mary of Czestochowa Church, Eynon. Viewing one hour prior to service at the church. Interment following service in St. Francis Cemetery, Eynon. Donations may be made in Delores name to the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 100 Williams St. Dunmore.
