Carla Mullen Obituary

Carla Mullen, 62, Sturges, passed away peacefully at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton with her loving family at her side.  She was the beloved daughter to the late William J. Mullen, Sr. (2008) and Marilyn A. Flood Mullen Snyder (1980).

A 1978 graduate from Valley View Sr. High School, Carla worked as a home health aide for the past 15 years.  Her final act of giving was to donate her eyes for medical research.

Carla is survived by 4 brothers: Mark, Billy Jr and wife, Gina, Archbald; Chris and wife, Cathy, Florida; and Sean, Bethlehem; 4 sisters: Colleen Baker and husband, Richard III, Bethlehem; Shannon Terrell, Georgia; Kim Spencer and husband, Ross, Dallas, Pa and Kerry Rupe, Peckville and by the matriarch aunt of the family, Mrs. Jeanne Marie Coccetti, Archbald.  Carla has many precious nieces and nephews, which she considered them as her “kids”; Billy, Brad and Bryan Mullen, Archbald; Jennifer Baker Keough and husband, Mike, Arizona; RP Baker, Matt Baker and wife, Brielle, Center Valley, PA; Andrew Baker, California; Shannon Baker Glassic and husband, Mike, Colorado;  Kelly Ann and Vanessa Terrell, George Terrell and wife, Carly, and Nick Terrell, Georgia; Corey Marilyn and Ian, Maryland and Chance Mullen, Florida; Marilyn and Mindy Spencer; Brett Rupe and wife, Gina, Garrett Rupe and wife, Emily, Kansas; and Jaydyn Rupe, Archbald; great nieces and nephews; Camden, Logan and Elle Keogh; Raegan Glassic and Zuri Rose Baker, Amelia Mae Mullen, Grayson William Terrell and numerous cousins.

Preceding her in death was a brother, Kelly T. (1997) and a nephew, Kelly Mullen (2022) and grandparents John and Grace Flood and Charles and Kathleen Mullen.

With the hugest heart and the kindest of souls, Carla dedicated her life to caring for others. She helped raise the children of her siblings and many of their friends’ children as well. She left an indelible mark in the hearts of every single child she met.  She had a contagious and loud laugh, her never ending creative abilities to transform leftovers into a gourmet meal, make up games to keep kids busy playing, dropping whatever she’s doing to help anyone who needed it, were just a few of her many qualities that drew people to her and loved her. Carla unconditional love for all she met transcended to those around her, both child and adult.  Carla was vivacious and opinionated, having been in "Facebook Jail " 4 times and forever honest, thoughtful and dependable. She will deeply be missed by all.
