Barbara Joan Willhide Plecker, 77, of Dallas, PA, passed away on April 24, 2023. She was the loving wife to Coleman Plecker, with whom she shared 46 joyous years. Born on June 14, 1945, in Memphis, TN, to the late Joseph and Norma Kansler Willhide.
Barbara was a woman of many talents, and her secretarial skills were beyond compare. She worked as a secretary for Don Shula of the Baltimore Colts from 1964-1966. In 1976, she met the love of her life, Coleman Plecker, at Pine Ridge Golf Course in Baltimore, MD. Together, they successfully created a golf business, which included Eagles Nest, Towson Golf and Country Club, Manor Country Club, World of Golf in Bel Air, MD, and Venice Golf and Country Club in Venice, FL.
Barbara lived her life with passion, laughter, and a presence as colorful as her red hair. She loved spending time with her family and friends, entertaining them at a moment's notice. Her hobbies included singing, cooking, and hosting fabulous parties. She loved to travel and was always positive. She was someone you could count on for advice or just there when you needed to talk. Her spirit, passion, and love for life will leave a void in our world.
In addition to her loving husband, Barbara is survived by her daughter, Beth Sedlak and husband, Bob, Clifford Township; her son, Joe Plecker and wife, Bridget Beres, Savannah, GA; her five grandchildren, Lily, Mimi, Vivian Sedlak, and Colt and Millie Plecker; and her two brothers, Robert Willhide and Paul Willhide.
Preceding her in death is a sister-in-law, Mary Fran Willhide.
