Ann Evelyn Siddons Turlip, 80, Archbald, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, September 24th. She was the daughter of the late Edwin T. and Evelyn McAuvic Siddons. She was the former wife of late Robert E. Turlip.
Born on October 13, 1942, she was a life-long resident of Archbald and a graduate of Archbald High School, class of 1960. She then attended St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing, Carbondale, and started her lengthy career as a dedicated registered nurse. She received a Master of Science degree in Health Care Administration from the University of Scranton.
Her career at St. Joseph’s Hospital spanned over forty-two years, where she advanced from several roles, including Director of Nursing, Vice President of Nursing, Vice President of Patient Care Services and ultimately retired in 2006 having served as the Chief Operating Officer of Maxis Health System.
Ann lived a full and blessed life and embraced the little things. She was a woman of great faith, who prayed the rosary every day and recited countless novenas to her patron saint, St. Ann, to protect and help her family. She was a faithful member of Christ the King Parish, Archbald. Her children, grandchildren and her sister were the centerfold of her life. She raised her seven children on Pine Street, hosting countless holidays and family events. She took pride in her home and most enjoyed sitting on her porch talking to all of the passersby. Her favorite memories were Sunday dinners at her home, trips to New York City, trips with her sister to Ireland, Italy and the Bahamas and watching her football games. One of her most notable memories was a trip to Notre Dame with her family.
She was known affectionately by her family as “Nana.” Her passion for life and perseverance made her a role model for all. She will be missed dearly by all who had the privilege to know her.
She was survived by seven children, namely, Robert J. Turlip (Melissa Hartmann Turlip), Archbald; Mary Ellen Turlip Pichiarello, Peckville; Karen Romanini (Dominick Romanini), Archbald; Ann B. Saville (Michael Saville), Floral Park, New York; Brian Turlip (Jessica Pronko Turlip), Archbald; Attorney Laura M. Turlip (Thomas Krempasky), Archbald and Michael Turlip (Karla Ruspi), Eynon; her fifteen grandchildren, namely, James and Dr. Joseph Pichiarello; Maura Turlip; Captain Robert J. Turlip, Jr. (Lt.
