Alexander Petrovich Obituary

It is with greatest sadness and heavy heart to announce passing of Alexander J. Petrovich, 23, of Blakely, who died on Friday, July 28 in a traumatic motorcycle accident.  He was a caring son to his mother, Michele Ropoch, Blakely and father, Charles “Chuck” Petrovich, of Eynon.

Born in Scranton, he graduated from Valley View High School, Class of 2018 and attended Kutztown University.  He then worked faithfully alongside his dad, at Cougar Auto Shop, Peckville.  He took great pride in his skill to diagnose a client’s car issues and repair it back to working order.

Alex will always be remembered for the impact he had on everyone he met.  He had a contagious smile, great sense of humor, fearless attitude, and love of sports.  He was an all-around athlete.  He competed in lacrosse, football, baseball and was happiest riding his motorcycle.  He also loved hanging out with his friends and was very respectful and took great care of his family.   Alex will be truly missed by all who had the pleasure to share in his brief life.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his maternal grandparents, Bud and Ann Chrzan Ropoch, Eynon; paternal grandmother, Margaret Polovitch Petrovich, Virginia Beach, VA; three brothers, Justin Smith, Eynon; Christpher Smith and wife, Tori, Dickson City; and Charles “Chuck” Petrovich, Jr. and wife, Ashley, Jessup; several aunts, uncles, cousins and especially special cousins , Jacob and Abigail Ropoch who were like a brother and sister; and nieces and nephews, Declan and Davina Smith, Charleigh and Lainey Petrovich.

Preceding in death was his paternal grandfather, Charles Petrovich who died 1980 and a special Aunt, Sherry Ropoch Runco on September 3, 2020.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, August 3 at 10 am, at St. Mary Czestochowa Church, Christ the King Parish, 417 Main St. Eynon, celebrated by Monsignor Patrick Pratico.  Family will receive condolences, Wednesday, from 5 - 8 pm at the funeral home.  Donations to American Cancer Society or Griffin Pond 967 Griffin Pond Rd, South Abington Township, PA  18411.
