Mary Theresa (Talarico) Mancuso

Mary Theresa (Talarico) Mancuso, 97, a resident of Lackawanna Health and Rehabilitation, Olyphant, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018, at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. Her Husband Jack, preceded her in death November,  1979.

Born Monday, January 10, 1921, in Calabria, Italy, and residing in Archbald since the age of six, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Angelina Talarico. Mary graduated from Archbald High School, and was a seamstress in the garment industry until her retirement. She was a member of Christ the King Parish, St Thomas Aquinas Church, Archbald, and the International Ladies’ Garment Workers’ Union.

Mary loved cooking and baking for her family. She enjoyed her trips to Atlantic City, and trying her luck with lottery tickets. She loved family parties.

Surviving are her sons Jack Mancuso and his wife Wendy, Peckville, and Greg, whose wife Barbara preceded Mary in death. She is also survived by her five beloved grandchildren; Tara and her husband Justin Farrell, Peckville; Tressa and her husband Ryan McAlarney, Archbald; Sean Mancuso and wife Becky, Moosic; Steven Mancuso, Archbald; Charise Mancuso, Philadelphia; the loves of her life, great grandchildren Jake and Liam Farrell; and Lana McAlarney; and several nieces and nephews. Mary was also preceded in death by her brothers Thomas Talarico, and Peter Talarico, and her sister Rose McDonald.

Family requests donations may be made to your favorite charity in Mary’s memory.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 22, 2018, at 9:30 a.m., Christ the King Parish, St Thomas Aquinas Church, 429 Church Street, Archbald. At the request of the family, there will be no visitation. Mary’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Louis J Rapoch Funeral Home, 420 Church Street, Archbald.
