Joy Andrukat Hart, 59, of Carbondale, left this earthly world, peacefully, on Friday morning, February 3, 2017 at Hershey Medical Center, after a courageous battle with heart disease. She is now safely in the care of Our Lord and once again happy in the arms of her late husband William Hart, who has been waiting for this moment since 2004.

She was born Wednesday, October 30, 1957 in Scranton, daughter of Lorraine Bauman Andrukat & David Andrukat.

She was a 1975 graduate of Tunkhannock Area High School & studied accounting at The University of Maryland. She served in the United States Army, & worked as an accountant most of her life. Her most recent positions were at Beach Suites Resort & Schooners Hotel, Madeira Beach, FL, where she was the Front Desk/Office Manager. Immediately prior to that she was the Night Manager at Screwie Louie's South Beach, Madeira Beach, FL. Joy & her husband Bill, before his death, traveled all over the world while they worked side by side at government managed casinos.

She enjoyed spending time with family & friends, especially her niece Alastrina Hess, whom she treated like the daughter she never had. She loved crocheting, crafting, reading & watching Disney movies. She was always posting new food recipes on Facebook.

Surviving are her Mother and Father Lorraine & David Andrukat, Carbondale; sisters Deb Riemer MacNamara & husband Jack NC , Debbie Wasnock & husband Edmund, UnionDale, brother David (Davie)Andrukat, Scranton; stepsisters Sheri Fulmer, NC & Patti O'Boyle, Scranton, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins & many Nieces & Nephews.

In addition to her husband William Hart, she was preceded in death by Stepmother Marge Andrukat & Stepfather Leo Healey Sr., stepbrothers Peter Healey, John (Jimmy) Healey, Leo Healey Jr. and a stepsister Lori Anderson.

Joy's wishes were to celebrate her life at the time of her passing. Everyone is invited to attend a memorial service on Thursday , February 16 at VFW Post 7963 from 6PM to 9PM. Children are welcome. It is our hope that everyone will recall a memory of Joy to share with all in attendance at the service.

Please accept the family's gratitude for the outpouring of prayers, love & support that everyone has given Joy the past 20 months. Many thanks to all of her caregivers at Bay Pines, FL Veteran's Hospital, Wilkes Barre, PA Veteran's Hospital, HHCP home health, Vanderbilt University Hospital, TN & Hershey Medical Center for providing excellent medical care which allowed her to remain with us for a little longer. Special thanks to Tunkhannock Area High School Class of 1975 for standing beside her, & to her friend & former boss Brian at Beach Suites Resorts for your undying support before any of us even knew how sick she was.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Joy's name to the American Heart Association. Words can't express how much we will miss her.
