John J. “Jackie” Teeple III, 40, formerly of Archbald, died unexpectedly, Saturday morning.
Born Tuesday, March 28, 1978 in Carbondale, he was the son of John J. “Jack” II and Mary Carol Smith Teeple of Archbald. Jackie was a graduate of Valley View High School, and a member of the Railroad union with Norfolk Southern Railroad. Jackie danced to the beat of a drummer who didn’t play drums. Never was one to shy away from a challenge. Jackie was constantly fixing whatever he broke. And it happened often. Jackie was a gentle giant with a huge heart that, would go out of his way to help anyone. He cherished every moment spent with his daughter and enjoyed being a jungle gym for his niece and nephews. Jackie especially enjoyed helping those without ever being asked. Jackie’s smile would light up a room, and his hugs would take away all your cares and worries.
Jackie is also survived by the light of his life, his daughter, Emily Teeple, Scranton; step-son, Mark Oressey, Scranton; brother, Jason Teeple and wife, Sarah, Blooming Glen; grandmother, June Teeple; niece, Brinly Teeple; nephews Race, Cohen, and Oliver; numerous aunts and uncles, Marianne Rosar and husband, Bill; Mike Teeple and wife, Helene; Pat Teeple and wife,Robin; Carolyn Nolan; Kathy Teeple; Bobby Smith; Paul Smith and Cathy Vadella. Also survived by former wife, Mary Teresa Oressey.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Jack Teeple Sr; maternal grandparents, Robert and Marion Smith; uncles, Thomas Teeple and Pat Vadella; and cousin, John Smith.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Friday, at Christ the King Parish, St Thomas Aquinas Church, 429 Church Street, Archbald. Jackie’s celebration of life services have been entrusted to the Louis J Rapoch Funeral, 420 Church St, Archbald, where friends may call from 5-9 p.m. on Thursday.
