Elizabeth Ahern Obituary

Born August 28, 1931 in Archbald, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna McLaughlin Ahern. Betty was a graduate of Archbald High School and retired from the garment factories and Custodial Department at Valley View High School.  Betty loved to sing, especially Irish songs.  She had a quick wit and entertained others with her Irish sounding brogue. For Betty, every day was St. Patrick's Day. She also loved listening to Christmas music.  Betty was an animal lover and her favorite pet was Peanuts, her sister Nan's dog. She enjoyed traveling on bus trips to shows and to different countries. She especially appreciated her friends and the many kindnesses, they showed her. She was a member of Christ the King Parish and the Altar and Rosary Society.

Surviving are her nieces and nephews, Edward and Sharon Marion; Ann Marie and Richard Goldovitch; Sister Maureen Marion, OSF; Pat and Jeanne Marion; Mike and Debbie Marion and Jack and Barbara Marion and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her sisters, Alice Lynady; Jean Ahern Cawley and Nan Ahern Marion, brother, Jack Ahern and niece and nephews, Kathryn and Donald Cole and Joe Marion.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am Thursday, at Christ the King Parish, St Thomas Aquinas Church, 429 Church St., Archbald.  Friends may call Wednesday from 3 to 6 pm at the Louis J Rapoch Funeral Home, 420 Church St. Archbald.  Interment will be held at St Thomas Aquinas Cemetery.
