Ann Marie (Simon) Marion

Marion, Ann Marie ‘Nan’ (Simon) passed away peacefully, Saturday morning, at Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton, she was the widow of Vincent Patrick Marion, Sr., who passed in 1977.

Born Wednesday, November 19, 1924 in Archbald, Nan was the only daughter of the late Kenneth W. and Anna Lascup Simon. She graduated from the former St. Thomas Aquinas Commercial School and briefly worked at American Tobacco Company as a secretary. Nan was a member of Christ the King Parish, St Thomas Aquinas Church, Archbald and loved being ‘Irish.’ 

She is survived by her children; Chief Petty Officer Vincent P. Marion, Jr., USN (Ret.) and wife Katie, Schenectady, NY; Kenneth W. and wife Teresa Marion, Endicott, NY; Theresa and husband Peter P. Zadzura, Jr. Archbald and son-in-law, Dr. Alan R. Peslak, Peckville; Grandchildren; Major Gregory Stopyra, USA (Ret.) and wife, Sunhee; Dr. Scott A. and wife Laurie Peslak, David A. Peslak , V Kenneth Marion, Peter P. Zadzura III and Julie Ann Zadzura; and great-granddaughters, Christina Marie Stopyra and Elizabeth Marion Peslak, her Loving Cousins Donald Houser and Jeanne Rogers and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Ann in death, was her daughter, Ann Elizabeth Peslak; and granddaughter Ami Marion Kirk.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10am at Christ the King Parish, Archbald. Interment will follow at St Thomas Aquinas Cemetery. Family will receive friends Saturday from 8:30am to 9:30am at the Louis J Rapoch Funeral Home, 420 Church Street, Archbald.
