Thomas “Tucker” J. Smith, 84, of Archbald died at Commonwealth Regional Hospital, Scranton. He was the son of the late Harold and Florence Dougher Smith.
Tucker was a graduate of Archbald High School and before retirement, he was employed at General Dynamics, Eynon and a member of Christ the King Parish, Archbald. He was proud veteran and honorably discharged as a sergeant for the US Army. A member of the Ambrose – Revels American Legion Post # 328, Archbald and for over 34 years faithfully affiliated with the East Side Hose Company and rarely missed response to a resident fire. Tucker was dedicated and loyal fan to his favorite sports teams, the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies and locally to Valley View Cougars. He seldom missed a game and could be heard cheering for his team. He wore his team colors often and proudly.
Surviving is his devoted brother, William F. Smith, Blakely and sister, Ann Marie Fife, Archbald; niece, Deborah Guenther, Pittsburgh; two nephews, Lawrence Smith and wife, Kamal, New Jersey and William Smith Jr. and wife, Erin, Virginia; two great nieces, Kim and husband, Ryan Miren and Sarah and husband Adam Lake; three great nephews, Sunil Smith and wife, Holly; Steven Guenther and wife, Chelsea and Conor Smith.
Preceding him in death is his sister-in-law, Joan Smith and niece, Colleen Smith.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, January 24th at 10 AM in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Christ the King Parish, Archbald. Viewing on Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM at the Louis J. Rapoch Funeral Home, 420 Church St. Archbald. Interment parish cemetery.
