Delores E. Warholic, 88, of Scott Township, passed away on Saturday, Dec 16 at Scranton Regional Hospital. She was the wife of the late, Theodore D. Warholic who died August 4, 2009.
Born in Olyphant, Delores was the daughter of the late, Primo and Elise Tomasetti Luchetti. She was a graduate of Olyphant High School and Lackawanna Jr. College, earning a degree in Business. A faithful member of the Church of St. Gregory, Clarks Green, prior to retirement she was employed for many years in the Office at Sugarman’s, Eynon and at Wes Freedman’s, Scranton. Delores then worked alongside her husband, Ted, and her devoted family, as proprietors of Bill’s Sporting Goods Store in North Scranton, until Ted’s untimely passing. Delores often shared joyous memories and the cherished friendships she established. She was a kind, caring, unselfish and thoughtful person and those who knew her would indeed agree.
Delores is survived by son, Theodore D. Warholic, Jr. and wife, Nina Cognetti Warholic, Springville; daughter, Tina Warholic, and husband, William O’Brien, Dillsburg; sister-in-law, Marie Luchetti; nine grandchildren: Megan Warholic Brewer and husband, Aslan; Theodore D. Warholic, III and wife, Jordan; Rebecca Warholic; Daniel Warholic; Brianna Tuffy and companion, Tyler Spoonhower; Ashlynn Tuffy; David Svetovich; Christopher A. O’Brien and wife, Amanda; and Brandon S. O’Brien and wife, Stephanie; seven great-grandchildren, Willow R. Brewer, Winter H. Brewer, Jase Tuffy, Zoe O’Brien, Sarah O’Brien, Spencer O’Brien, and Tristan O’Brien; daughter-like nieces, Linda Karpovich and Lisa Hughes, and many extended family members.
In addition to her husband Ted, she was preceded by two brothers, Carlo and Albert Luchetti, and sister- in- law, Norma.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, December 22, at 11 am at the Church of St. Gregory, 330 N. Abington Rd, Clarks Green. Entombment Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton. Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. until time of mass at the church.
