Bernard J. Stafursky, 87, of Eynon, passed away at his home on Saturday, December 23, 2023 with his loving wife, Barbara Venesky Stafursky, at his side. They were married 32 joyous years.
Born in Archbald, he was the son of the late, Joseph and Kathryn Bors Stafursky. He attended Archbald High School and was a member of Christ the King Parish, Archbald. Bernie was the proud founder and owner of Stafursky Paving Company, Archbald. He worked alongside his sons, who continued his respected company today. In his younger years, he was a prized bowler and often enjoyed a round of golf at Elkview Country Club where he was a member. Bernie was a man of great character, a faithful companion and always had good words to say, with a genuine smile on his face.
Surviving are two sons; David and wife, Kim and Bernard “BJ” Stafursky, both of Archbald; four grandchildren, Jake, Seth and wife, Madison, Tyler and fiancée, McKenzie and Dylan.
Preceding him in death were two brothers, Ed and Joseph Stafursky.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, December 29, 2023, at 10 AM in Christ the King Parish, St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Archbald. Visitation one hour prior to mass at the church. Private inurnment parish cemetery. Donations to St. Joseph’s Center Foundation, 2010 Adams Ave. Scranton or Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 937 Griffin Pond Rd. Clarks Summit.
