Melanie Wychowanec

Melanie (Yaworske) Wychowanec, 57, Mayfield, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, Friday, May 05. She was the wife of William G Wychowanec.

Born Monday, August 17, 1959, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Olga (Pehosh) Yaworske. Melanie was a 1977 graduate of Lakeland High School, a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Marywood University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a member of St John’s Russian Orthodox Church, Mayfield, and was  employed at Tri-County Services, Carbondale, as an Adult Outpatient Therapist.

Melanie was a loving wife and mother who, always put her clients at the utmost position in her work. She loved to ski, golf, and enjoyed walking the local heritage valley trail.

Melanie is also survived by her son Adam, Mayfield, her brother Alan and wife Cindy Yaworske, Alexandria, Va., her sister Susan O’Brien, Mayfield, and her nieces and nephews, Jason and Cara Yaworske, and Daniel O’Brien.

Requiem services to be held 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, at St John’s Russian Orthodox Church, 706 Hill Street, Mayfield, with the Very Rev. Mitred Archpriest John Sorochka officiating. Interment to follow at the church cemetery. Family and Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, with Parastas at 7 p.m., at the Louis J Rapoch Funeral Home, 420 Church Street, Archbald.
