Mary Rose Czachor, a lifelong resident of Archbald, passed away August 8, 2016 at Green Ridge Health Care Center, Scranton.

Born April 28, 1921 in Archbald, daughter of the late Stanley and Mary Besiadecki Czachor.  A graduate of Archbald, she was a supervisor with R.C.A. in New Jersey, and retired as a supervisor for Weston, Inc. in 1983. She was a member of Christ the King Parish, Archbald, where she was treasurer for the Altar and Rosary Society, a lector and a CCD teacher.  Mary was actively involved with the St Gabriel Retreat House, the DCCW and traveled extensively to Poland and Rome, and was quite fluent with the polish language.  In her travels, she was blessed to have met the Pope twice.  Mary loved gardening, sewing, crocheting, cooking, and baking and could be seen attending Novena’s on a regular basis. 

Surviving are her sister, Josephine Czachor, Archbald; brother, Michael and wife, Alice (Oprisko) Czachor, Archbald; nieces, Michelle and husband, David Krutulis, Archbald; Mary Jo and husband, Jonathon Pahoski, Dickson City; Joni Aybar, Florida; and Carol Lamachy, Columbus, OH; nephews, James Czachor and John Czachor, Queensland, Australia; Great nieces and nephews; Alicia Krutulis, David Krutulis, Nicholas Pahoski, Christopher Pahoski, Jessica Pahoski, Joshua Pahoski, and great-great nephew, Connor McIntire.  Mary is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her sister, Stella Shevitts; brothers, Edward Czachor and Fr. Christopher Czachor, C.P.; nieces, Judith Ann Czachor and Stephanie Lamachy and nephews, Michael Shevitts; Jospeh Krzywiec and Peter Aybar.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in Christ the King Parish, Archbald.  Family and friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Louis J Rapoch Funeral Home, 420 Church St Archbald.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St Thomas Aquinas Church or St Gabriel Retreat House.  The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Fr Christopher S.
