Joan Ann (Davis) Smith

Joan Ann (Davis) Smith, 80, a resident of Archbald, entered into eternal rest, with her family by her side, Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton.

She was born, Monday, April 22, 1935 to the late Roy and Agnes (Ratchford) Davis. Joan was a member of Christ the King Parish, St Thomas Aquinas Church, enjoyed socializing and attended Archbald High School.

She is survived by her husband William, with whom she would have celebrated 64 years of marriage in June. She is also survived by her four children, Debbie Guenther, Pittsburgh, Larry and wife Kamal Smith, Glen Rock, New Jersey, Bill and wife Erin Smith, Ashburn Virginia and Colleen Smith, Archbald, grandchildren Sunil and wife Holly Smith, Kimberly Smith, Sarah Guenther Lake and Husband Adam, Steven Guenther, Conor Smith, step-great grandchildren Preston Lake, Eddie and Sammy Tiller, brother-in-law Tom Smith, sister-in-law Alice Fife, Aunt Jean Gavin, cousins Ann Krzwiecz, Mary Helen Walsh and her daughter Mary Ann Walsh.

Joan’s greatest joy in life was caring for her children and traveling to visit with them and her grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, at 9:30 a.m. at Christ the King Parish, 429 Church Street, Archbald. Father Christopher S Sahd will be the celebrant. Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at the Louis J Rapoch Funeral Home, 420 Church Street, Archbald.
