Harry L Puckett

March 16, 1936 ~ May 8, 2016 (age 80) 80 Years Old


Harry L. Puckett of Eynon, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2016 at Regional Hospital of Scranton.  His wife is Venus Major Puckett of Eynon, with whom he would have celebrated 56 years of marriage this June.

Harry was born Monday, March 16, 1936 in Pickaway, WV, son of the late James R. and Jessie Jane (Bland) Puckett.  Harry was a senior companion for Telespond, a construction foreman for Linde Corporation, he loved the Pittsburgh Pirates and the New York Giants and loved watching his nephews, Bobby and Brian, race at the dirt tracks around the area.  He loved to cook, where he created new dishes, such as soups and chili and was adored for his sweet potato dish and cauliflower casserole.  Harry would spend his time watching the Food Network and HGTV.  Harry attended the Green Ridge Assembly of God, with his family.  Harry proudly served his country with the US Air Force. 

Also surviving are his son, Michael A. (Traci) Puckett, Clarks Summit; daughter, Sharon L. (James) Fiorini, Reading; sisters-in-law, Eleanor Puckett, Scranton and Eva Puckett, Moosic; grandchildren, Antony and Alexandra Fiorini and Jennifer L. and Elizabeth C. Makowski and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his brothers, Kenneth Puckett and Harold Puckett and sister and brother-in-law, Alice Marie (Harry) Rosengrant.

Friends are invited to join the family for a memorial service Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 10am at the Green Ridge Assembly of God. Reverend David Twiss, officiating.
