Edna Teresa (Bershefsky) Zelna

Edna Teresa (Bershefsky) Zelna, 90, Eynon, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, Sunday at Green Ridge Health Care Center, Scranton. She was the widow of Alfred J Zelna who passed away June 03, 1987.

Born Friday, October 01, 1926, in Eynon, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Viola (Horuzy) Bershefsky. Edna was a graduate of Archbald High School, and a secretarial school in Archbald, Pa. Before retirement, she was a secretary at the George Manufacturing Company, Eynon. She was a member of Christ the King Parish, St Mary Czestochowa Church, the altar and rosary society, and the Confraternity of Christian Mothers. God was the center of her life.  She was a devout Catholic who spent many hours praying the rosary and the Divine Mercy Chaplet. Her family was the joy of her life.  She loved reading, cooking, news channels, and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers.

She is survived by her daughter Janet, Eynon; son Al and wife Lorie Zelna, Falls; grandsons Alexander and Zachary Zelna; sister-in-law Mary Ann Bershefsky; a niece and several nephews.  Edna was preceded in death by her brothers Robert, Ralph, and Alfred.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the renovation fund at Christ the King Parish.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, 10 a.m. at Christ the King Parish, St Mary Czestochowa Church, 417 Main Street, Eynon. Interment to follow at Our Mother of Sorrow Cemetery, Finch Hill, Greenfield Township. Family and friends may call Tuesday, 3 to 5, and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Louis J Rapoch Funeral Home, 420 Church Street, Archbald.
