Edmund ‘Sailor’ Faliskie, 87, Archbald, died Thursday morning at home. He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Mary Louise (Mullen) Faliskie, who died July 2001.

Born Tuesday, September 03, 1929, in Archbald, he was a son of the late Anthony and Mary Muha Faliskie. Sailor was a graduate of Archbald High School. Prior to retirement, he was a milkman for Steven’s Brothers Dairy for many years, and worked in security at Lockheed Martin. Sailor was a member of Christ the King Parish, where he was very active with activities, particularly the bingo program. He also was a member of the American Legion Ambrose-Revels post 328, St Alphonsus Retreat Society, and an Army veteran, serving during the Korean conflict. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, and Duke University Basketball. Sailor was a ‘one of a kind;’ with a great sense of humor. His family was everything to him.

Surviving are his children, Ellen Marie Faliskie, Jessup, Sister Mary Kay Faliskie, I.H.M., Scranton, Father Edmund Faliskie, C.Ss.R., Brooklyn, N.Y., Carolyn and husband Patrick Flannery, Archbald, David and wife Nancy Faliskie, Virginia; grandchildren Lauren Faliskie, Bridget Flannery, David Faliskie, Kathleen Faliskie, Molly Flannery, and Melanie Faliskie.

Sailor was preceded in death by his daughter Sharon Bridget Faliskie, brothers Anthony and Paul, and his sister Frances Daley.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by his son Father Edmund Faliskie, C.Ss.R. on Monday, at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Parish, St Thomas Aquinas Church, 429 Church Street, Archbald. Family and friends may call Sunday, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Louis J Rapoch Funeral Home, 420 Church Street, Archbald. Those attending mass are asked to go straight to the church.
