He will be missed. He resides in so many of my memories. I wish we could have been there. Love from all of us.

Dave

for years I watched as life and time
dealt him so many bad hands
yet he persevered and even triumphed
I have memories, so many memories
always a smile or a joke
car parked across the tracks
bending beer can openers for kicks
standing there with his crutch and gun
shattering clay pigeons one after the other
teasing my kids and making us all laugh
he was a model of what one might be
he will be missed by many and particularly me
all I can hope is he is somewhere better
at peace and with that smile on his face

Cousin Ger

I am deeply saddened to read of Dave's passing. He was a great guy. As we have lived a few doors away from him for several years I would always see him out walking the block. He would greet me with a hearty "howdy (or hi) neighbor" as I got out of my car from work. That greeting made me forget any bad day I may have had.

I would always stop & ask him how he was & he wld say he was okay & then go on to tell me how beautiful i was & how lucky my husband is.

My step son helped Dave up just this past winter when he fell just outside his house. He helped Dave into his house & then Dave was offering him anything he wanted in his house as a thank you for helping him up when most kids his age would just turn their head. Of course he didn't accept anything he just was glad he was okay.

My prayers to all of Dave's family he will surely be missed in the neighborhood.

I am deeply saddened to be reading of Dave's passing. As we live a few doors away from him and have for quite a few years. I would always stop to say hello & ask how he's doing. He always yelled from his yard if he was outside when I came home from work "hey neighbor" I would always return the greeting.

My step son helped him up just this past winter when he slipped and fell getting into his home & once my step son thought he was ok he left his house. He offered to give him anything he wanted for helping him when most kids would just turn the other cheek. Of course my step son refused anything & just told him he was glad he was okay.

Gonna miss his greetings in the summer & looking for him walking around the block.

Prayers to the family during this rough time.
